Hadef & Partners was awarded Domestic Deal of the Year at the IFLR (International Financial Law Review) Middle East awards on Wednesday 19 October at the Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai. The awards acknowledge the most significant noteworthy deals, teams and individuals in the region.

The Domestic Deal of the Year award recognises the team’s role in the ADNIC subordinated mandatory convertible bonds deal with Hadef & Partners acting as counsel to ADNIC (the issuer) and Clifford Chance for acting as counsel to NBAD (the lead manager). The innovative deal was the first mandatory convertible bonds issued under the new Commercial Companies Law 2 of 2015 which were the first bonds of this kind to be listed on ADX (Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange) and the first bonds offered in full to the domestic UAE market and fully subject to the UAE laws.

Head of Corporate, Abu Dhabi Yasser Omar said “We are very pleased to have been engaged in such a landmark deal involving the development of the ADX and are delighted to receive this accolade”.
