The Information Technology Authority (ITA) concluded the registration phase in the fifth edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment Services. The number of registered projects is 62 projects from 38 government and private entities and SMEs.

This year, the award contains 11 categories distributed for government, private and SMEs sectors. The government sector entities can compete in 8 different categories, namely:  Best e-Service including (G2E, G2B), Best e-Services via Mobile including (G2E, G2B), Best whole of government Project, Best service supporting doing business, Best e-participation for decision making initiative, Best e-transformation achievement. Whereas the private sector's large organizations can compete in two categories, namely: Best Public eService and Best Public Mobile eService. Private sector ICT Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can participate, in one category: Best SME eService.

The pre-assessment phase started from August 22nd, to assess the registered projects' eligibility to enter the competition. Then the Jury evaluation phase will be on October and the winners' announcement will be on December. For any inquires call 24166800 to talk to the Award organizing committee.
