RAS Al-KHAIMAH, 22nd March, 2017 (WAM) -- Emirates Foundation, an independent philanthropic organisation set up by the Abu Dhabi Government to facilitate public-private partnerships for empowering youth across the UAE, officially inaugurated today the Emirates Foundation Ras al-Khaimah branch.

The branch was inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, and in the presence of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Board member of Emirates Foundation, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Managing Director of Emirates Foundation, Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar ), Sheikh Khaled bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Sheikh Abdullah bin Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, member of the board of Julphar, Sheikh Saqr bin Mo?ammad bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Sheikh Arhama bin Saud bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Deputy Director-General of Union Cement Company in Ras al-Khaimah, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Managing Director of Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone.

The branch reflects the Foundations goal to expand its outreach and effectively support youth across the nation. Through actively engaging youth in the its programs, the Foundation will not only help in developing their skills and talents, but will also support them in building a sound understanding and awareness of the issues that will empower them to build their self-confidence, commitment and accountability to positively impact their own and their communitys development.

H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude for Emirates Foundation's efforts to support and empower Emirati youth, under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of Emirates Foundation.

H.H. said:" Youth are the real wealth of our country and it is our national duty to invest in their highest potential and empower them to contribute towards the sustainable development of our great nation. Emirates Foundations presence today in Ras al-Kahimah is clear reflection of the continued success and commitment demonstrated over the years and I call upon all institutions and the private sector to join our endeavor to support Emirates Foundation to continue delivering on its mission to positively impact the lives of youth throughout the United Arab Emirates."Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan said: "At the onset of last year, our leadership set a new challenge to us and that is to ensure that we are creating sustainable social impact for youth across all of the UAE and to focus particularly on young Emiratis living in areas of low population density. Today, this vision is being translated into reality with the strengthening of the Foundations presence in the Northern Emirates. This presence will not only act as a hub for delivering youth programs, but will also serve as a platform for youth to voice their needs and aspirations."He added: "Emirates Foundations efforts to continue to bear fruit day after day, reflecting its sound strategies and impactful execution under the guidance of its wise leadership.
