MANAMA - Bahrain is planning a ‘tourism renaissance’ to help boost the economy, it was revealed yesterday.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa met His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

They reviewed topics related to the national economy, including the promotion of the tourism sector for added value. They affirmed the government’s desire to launch more projects that strengthen the pillars of a multi-source tourism industry.

The leaders stressed that Bahrain is making clear and confident progress towards achieving a tourism renaissance that targets various economic, cultural and sports fields to support policies to diversify sources of income and generate job opportunities.

The Prime Minister and the Crown Prince also reviewed plans to develop the work environment.

They highlighted the government’s programmes aimed at improving work conditions for citizens and residents by strengthening it through better regulations that are in line with international standards, and provide protection for expat workers.
