DUBAI, UAE: Dubai Airports, operator of Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC), is partnering with Tejari, the leading spend management provider, to digitise all its procurement activities.

Announcing the partnership, Najla Alghammai, Acting Vice President of Supply Management at Dubai Airports, said: “We are always looking at opportunities to enhance our processes and systems to increase efficiency and improve customer experience across our business. This move to digitise our procurement activities through the Tejari platform will go a long way in improving the overall performance of our procurement system by streamlining the process and enabling virtual interaction with our suppliers. The initiative reflects our commitment to supporting Dubai Government’s drive to reduce the use of paper while upgrading manual systems into online services for greater speed, convenience and reliability.”

She added that Dubai Airports employees will be able to accurately track the status of open tenders as scoring will be automated and responses will be standardised under the new platform.

More than 21% of Dubai Airports’ suppliers are already registered on Tejari’s eSupply portal which has been adopted by as many as 40 government entities and growing. The vendor is assisting suppliers that are yet to register on the new platform with their enrolment to ensure a smooth transition.

The implementation of the new platform aligns with the Dubai Paperless Strategy, which seeks to transform Dubai Government into a fully digital government in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
