Datamatic features workforce performance metrics, motivation for employees via online feedback messaging

Dubai, March 12, 2015: Jafza-based Micro Automation Industries (MAI) has launched its latest invention, 'Datamatic' - a real-time performance monitoring system, during IEOM (Industrial Engineering and Operations Management) Conference in Dubai earlier this month.

Datamatic, which was invented by MAI in at its facilities in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, is designed to measure manufacturing productivity, and supports smart manufacturing requirements.

Omar Bin Hendi, Vice President of Customer Relations, Jafza said: "We are honored to have an innovative company like Micro Automation Industries as one of our key customers in Jafza, proudly exporting the "Made in UAE" mark to countries around the world."

"Companies like MAI, and its Innovations play a vital role in our plans to support the enhancement of the knowledge-based economy, in line with Dubai's 2021 strategy, and will certainly help us attract more talent and companies in the fields of innovation and technology," Bin Hendi added.

Hazim Al-Hajjaj, the CEO of MAI said: "Datamatic has been designed to provide businesses the leading edge in their manufacturing process by tracking production data, changes in workforce efficiency during working hours. It also validates data on raw material, worker certification etc., allowing supervisors to monitor attendance, operational status and worker performance in real-time, thus identifying any problems, and immediately take corrective action."

Al Hajjaj added that the system also has the capability of giving motivational messages to employees, encouraging them to achieve higher efficiency and quality on the production line.

Mrs. Thukaa Baker, the Managing Director of MAI added: "We see the Datamatic system becoming smarter over time, and automatically adapting to the unique production pattern of a business, ultimately leading to fully automated scheduling at the production line, with all required information at the manager's fingertips."

The Datamatic system is part of MAI's efforts in support of the UAE Government's declaration of 2015 as the "Year of Innovation" and its new National Innovation Strategy aimed at claiming UAE's place among the most innovative nations in the world within the next 7 years.

Over the past decade, Micro Automation Industries has succeeded in expanding its production capacity and diversifying its product portfolio to more than 80 products, making it yet another Jafza success story in the truest sense of the word.

The credit for this success lies in the company's strict quality control, and the ambition to exceed customer expectations at every turn.  In 2009, MAI established a unit within the Innovation and Incubation Centre at the University of Leuven in Belgium, specifically for the research, knowledge development, and SMT assembly.

The Dubai based electronic system developer and manufacturer has been operating here since 2002, and has carved a niche of its own in GCC region through its main line product branded 'Powermatic': the intelligent power management solution.

With its R&D facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone and Leuven-Belgium, MAI has gained competitive advantage in the market by being close to technology development centers, being connected with universities and its extensive manufacturing experience in GCC region.

The 5th IEOM Conference, which was attended by over 500 professors, researchers, and experts from 76 countries, a forum for academics, researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and recent developments in the field of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. It fosters networking, collaboration and joint effort among the conference participants to advance the theory and practice as well as to identify major trends in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management.
