• Construction conglomerate placed donation boxes across Abu Dhabi to encourage generous donations from the public
  • Clothing and children’s toys were regularly collected by Emirates Red Crescent throughout the initiative

Abu Dhabi: Trojan Holding has completed its ‘Share’ initiative in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), which resulted in thousands of items of clothing and children’s toys being donated to families in need.

The construction conglomerate launched the initiative in September last year during the Year of Giving, in a bid to make it easier for the generous Abu Dhabi public to donate their various clothes and toys.

The initiative was undertaken by Trojan Holding as part of its ‘Year of Giving’ CSR campaigns. Trojan placed 45 1sqm sized collection boxes in various locations across the capital such as malls and humanitarian centres, to encourage members of the public to give clothes and toys to less fortunate families in the UAE.

Salem Sultan Al Suwaidi, General Manager Emirates Red Crescent Baniyas branch said: “We would like to thank Trojan Holding for its contribution and continuous support to the Emirates Red Crescent throughout the “Share” initiative, and we look forward to their support in upcoming initiatives.”

The initiative was supported by Abu Dhabi Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM). The open-style boxes were labelled with a clear explanation of the initiative to encourage the residents to donate to those in need and these were regularly collected by ERC.

Eng. Hamad Al Ameri, Managing Director of Trojan Holding, said: "At Trojan, we believe in the importance of giving back to the community and improving the lives of the less fortunate members of the society. The Year of Giving promoted the ethos of giving and the values of compassion and philanthropy and we tried to capture that essence through our ‘Share’ initiative.

“We are grateful to the residents of Abu Dhabi who participated in the campaign through their generous donations and we are proud to hand over these boxes to the Emirates Red Crescent Baniyas branch. We hope this benefits the people supported by ERC and we look forward to continue supporting its humanitarian projects in the future.”
