DUBAI, 18th April, 2017 (WAM) -- Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs has said that the innovation policies and programmes adopted by Dubai Customs are based on the national innovation strategy and strategic development plans. During participation in an event organised by Dubai Customs under the theme, "Unleash Innovation" Musabih reaffirmed the departments commitment of providing a positive workplace conducive to innovation.

The event saw the signing of an agreement between Dubai Customs and the British University in Dubai, BUiD, on research and knowledge sharing, which was signed by Musabih, and Abdullah Alshamsi, BUiD Vice Chancellor.

Musabih said the agreement will open broader horizons to scientific research that will serve the departments vision of becoming the leading customs administration in the world supporting legitimate trade. "Following the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai of adopting strategic plans and innovative programmes, we have recently dedicated 10 hours a month for each department at Dubai Customs to discuss and brainstorm around innovation to come up with new ideas that serves the UAEs vision of becoming a leading nation worldwide," he said.

Alshamsi said, "I am hopeful that the agreement will be very beneficial to Dubai Customs and the British University. There are more than 200 scientific researches that Dubai Customs can benefit from, especially in IT, project management and business management."
