Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Rental Disputes Center (RDC) successfully concluded its participation at GITEX Technology Week (GITEX) 2018. Over the course of five days, RDC was able to highlight its slogan ‘Self-Litigation Simulates Artificial Intelligence’ by showcasing its leading initiatives and smart technologies in real estate litigation.
HE Judge Abdulqader Mousa, Director of RDC at Dubai Land Department (DLD), said: “RDC would like to extend its sincere appreciation to its team for their great efforts in providing a comprehensive explanation of our various smart applications and services. We succeeded in spreading awareness among a large number of visitors of our role in supporting the vision of our wise leadership to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world, and achieve our mission of reducing disputes between tenants and landlords.”
RDC’s platform was visited by several VIPs, and was widely attended by visitors who praised its efforts in advancing the development of the judicial system of real estate, establishing a secure real estate environment, and achieving its vision of being the international benchmark in resolving real estate disputes.
RDC showcased several initiatives, most prominent of which were the new and smart real estate litigation solutions and their positive impact on increasing a judge's productivity index in the number of handled cases.
Mousa stressed that these benefit all customers, and assist in the release of detainees from rent-related cases within five minutes, especially as the implementation of the eviction and settlement of rental disputes takes place within 48 hours of the validity of the execution judgment.
Since its inception, RDC succeeded in reducing the rate of rental disputes, which reached 1.99% of the total number of contracts registered in DLD’s Oqoodi system. On the other hand, RDC recorded 6,289 settlements (mediation cases).
Mousa concluded: “RDC pays great attention to achieve reconciliation between the two parties as a preferred solution before resorting to litigation. If no agreement was reached, the parties may resort to remote litigation.”
