Oman's SQU, Al Buraimi Solar Energy sign cooperation programme

The cooperation programme seeks to strengthen national capacities in the fields of solar energy, production, design, development and manufacturing.

Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) signed a cooperation programme with Al Buraimi Solar Energy. This programme between the College of Engineering at SQU, Al Buraimi Solar Energy Systems and associating companies Al Wathbh Technical & Engineering Company and Sharklead Company seeks to promote cooperation in building the competencies of both parties in areas of mutual interest.

The cooperation programme seeks to strengthen national capacities in the fields of solar energy, production, design, development and manufacturing. It will encourage students to develop solutions and techniques used to design and manufacture national products related to solar energy systems, and develop projects and provide technical consultancy to industries.

As per the cooperation programme, the two parties would contribute to the transfer of knowledge and solar energy systems technology in the Sultanate, and provide innovative solutions in the field of solar energy to relevant industries. The parties would work out joint practical solutions to provide more solar energy to SQU.

The joint programme was signed by Dr Ali bin Saud Al Bimani, Vice Chancellor of the University, and by Mansour bin Sulaiman Al Hilali, General Manager of Al Buraimi Solar Systems, in the presence of Prof. Hadj Bourdoucen, Dean of the College of Engineering, and programme coordinators Dr Rashid Said Al Abri and Eng. Abdullah Omar Eidroos.
