DUBAI, U.A.E., The Emirates Group has partnered with the Protocol School of Washington to offer UAE Nationals occupying externally-facing roles a bespoke etiquette course designed to enhance their public relations skills and communication efficiency.

The course, which was administered over a period of three days at the JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai last week, introduced the students to different techniques on how to best represent themselves and the company as highly-credentialed officials in a global environment.  The interactive sessions included courses on cross-cultural communication and business-professional protocol including how to build professional credibility and personal image; they covered everything from greeting protocols to presentation skills and dining etiquette.

“We are always looking to invest in courses and initiatives that provide UAE Nationals with various development opportunities, further enhancing their careers and growing their skillset.  Partnering with a highly-regarded school like the Protocol School of Washington has given our Emirati employees a one-of-a-kind opportunity to connect with industry professionals, and learn from their strengths and experiences. The knowledge they’ve gained from this course will not only help them thrive in a dynamic multinational workplace like the Emirates Group but prepare them to be better future leaders and Emirati ambassadors,” said Amira Al Falasi, Emirates’ Vice President, National Recruitment and Development.

Over the years, the Emirates Group has employed UAE Nationals in a variety of roles across the group. Through its Emiratisation strategy, Rehlaty, the group sets an Emiratisation target to recruit and retain UAE Nationals, offering a range of career opportunities and scholarships to ensure the new recruits are well-equipped for a dynamic career with the Emirates Group.

The Protocol School of Washington provides expertise in protocol, business etiquette and communication skills around the world using the highest educational standards. Through training in business protocol, intercultural etiquette and cross-cultural intelligence, the school prepares professionals with the critical behaviours necessary to build lasting professional relationships in their careers.
