RJ reaches great punctuality rating in global study

Amman: Royal Jordanian ranked 3 stars, according to OAG’s On-Time Performance (OTP) Star Rating for the world's airlines and airports. The OTP for this ranking was measured in the June 2018-May 2019 period, with RJ’s annual punctuality rate reaching 74.7%. 

The On-Time Performance Star Rating is an ongoing accreditation program which awards all airlines and airports a star rating once a year.

The star ratings range from one to five stars; the top 10% receive five stars. The awards are then distributed across all airlines and airports, with the poorest performers receiving one star.

For the star ranking, OAG considers the number of flights of each airline, processing flight status information for no less than 80% of scheduled flights in a 12-month period. Airlines must have a minimum of 1,500 operations per month; RJ's performance was measured based on 34,272 flights.

OAG published its star ranking results on its website. The results show that Garuda Indonesia, Copa Airlines, Air Baltic, All Nippon Airways, Aeroflot, among others, were ranked 5 stars. Some of the 4-star carriers are: Qantas, JAL, Alitalia, Delta Air Lines, Qatar Airways and KLM. RJ was awarded the 3-star ranking joining the likes of Emirates, Air France, American Airlines, United Airlines, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Turkish Airlines, Middle East Airlines, Oman Air and others.
