DUBAI: With a new year comes new goals, and Expo 2020 Dubai is the place to be to kickstart 2022 in the best ways possible.

At Expo 2020, your new year’s resolutions will never be out of reach – whether you are looking to travel more, get fit, spend time with your family, or help save the planet.

If travelling is on your bucket list, Expo 2020 is the world in one place, offering visitors the chance to see the best countries have to showcase without leaving the UAE! With 192 countries participating at Expo, there is so much to see and experience.

From 9 to 16 January, visitors can get involved in Expo 2020’s Travel & Connectivity Theme Week, where decision-makers and thought-leaders will come together to explore the technological tools and approaches that are shaping the future of physical and digital connectivity.

Visitors can experience the Swiss Alps, the Philippines’ coral reefs, the ancient streets of Morocco and much more on Expo’s self-guided ‘Trail of Treasures’ journey, available on the Expo 2020 app, or join in one of the sessions, including a World Majlis, on the future of sustainable tourism.

Those who want to lead a healthier life, can sign up for a one-hour guided bicycle tour around the Expo 2020 site or try the ladies-only yoga sessions at the Surreal water feature every Monday at 0930 GST.

The Sports, Fitness and Wellbeing Hub provides an eclectic mix of activities for all ages, interests and fitness levels – for free – as well as a state-of-the-art gym and a variety of fitness classes available every day. There is a five-a-side football pitch, two ‘Big Bash’ cricket nets, and a multi-purpose court for basketball, netball, volleyball and tennis, and with a brand new sports venue opening later in January, you will be able to get into shape in no time.

From films, music and sport to mascot and puppet shows, as well as food and beverage outlets from across the globe, Expo 2020 offers a range of family-friendly activities for those who want to spend more time with their loved ones.

Many of the 192 Country Pavilions feature family-focused activities, including the 21-metre-tall slide at the Luxembourg Pavilion, traditional board and playground games at the Ethiopia Pavilion, and the Graduation Hall swings at Campus Germany.

If you want to make it your mission to help save the planet in 2022, then Expo 2020 is the place to be. Join the making of a new world, where sustainability is an integral component of every activity on site, from recycling to promoting natural solutions, to discovering new tech that will help create a cleaner, safer, healthier world.

Expo 2020 Dubai aims to be the most sustainable World Expo in history, inspiring visitors to protect the Earth for future generations, while Mission Possible – The Opportunity Pavilion is the place to head to see the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) brought to life.

Here, every visitor can make a personal pledge to commit to a course of action that will make a difference in their own and their community’s lives – a commitment that will take centre stage during Global Goals week from 16 to 22 January, which, for the first time, will be held outside of New York.
