DUBAI – How will the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) affect our lives? This a topic very much under discussion at the Luxembourg Pavilion this week, starting today with a panel, ‘Humanities and the rise of AI: Implications of Cultural and Societal Engineering’. Scientists and theorists will come together for a series of sessions, which run until 10 February.
Dr Isabell Baumann, organiser and faculty member at the University of Luxembourg, said: “A computational scientist speaks a different language to a social scientist, and although we work together on one theme, we have different perspectives on AI. So the aim is to collaborate, bring research perspectives together, ask questions concerning the future of AI, and the impact of technological inventions on cultures and society, as well as finding solutions to take technology forward.”
In its sessions, the conference will explore the future of digital teaching and learning, whether hybrid learning will work in the UAE’s education sector, and AI’s impact on media and arts. The conference is organised by the University of Luxembourg in cooperation with United Arab Emirates University, The British University in Dubai and the New York University Abu Dhabi.
