AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti and German Ambassador to Jordan Bernhard Kampmann on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding between the Jordanian armed forces and the German army.

The memo is aimed at advancing cooperation in the fields of military training, joint drills, defence industries, health services, military medicine, cybersecurity and professional development between the two sides, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Huneiti said the agreement is part of the Jordanian armed forces’ efforts to step up military cooperation on common interests, expertise exchange and develop defense capabilities.

The German envoy lauded the Jordanian armed forces’ role in the pursuit of regional security and peace, as well as globally, via partnerships with peacekeeping forces, pointing out that this agreement was the result of the high efficiency and professionalism it enjoys and to furthering the areas of military cooperation between the two sides.
