Muscat: During the first half of the current year, electricity production decreased by 2.6 per cent compared to the same period in 2019. However, on the other side, water production increased by 6.4 per cent.

A statement issued by National Centre for Statistics and Information, (NCSI), said: "The total electricity production in the Sultanate is 17.5 thousand gigawatts per hour until the end of June 2020. A decrease of 2.6 per cent, compared to the same period in 2019."

The centre added: "Water production reached 229.3 thousand cubic meters until the end of June 2020, registering an increase of 6.4 per cent compared to the same period in 2019."
