Cairo –  The Egyptian cabinet approved a draft law for the establishment of the Digital Egypt Fund to activate and promote digital community services.

The fund will support various sectors in implementing plans and initiatives related to digital services, according to a cabinet statement on Tuesday.

It will also enhance the localisation of modern technology and digital literacy, in addition to supporting the establishment of data centres and the upgrade of digital government systems and programs in a bid to raise the efficiency of the information infrastructure.

Moreover, the scope of work also includes building digital capabilities and financing young innovators in the field of digital transformation.
