The number of people registering as jobless in Spain fell by 1.21% in March from a month earlier, or by 33,405, leaving a total of 2.73 million people out of work, data from the Labour Ministry showed on Tuesday.

This was the lowest figure for March since 2008, the ministry added.

Spain gained 77,876 net formal jobs in March to 21 million jobs, a separate report from the Social Security Ministry showed.

Unemployment of young people under 25 years of age decreased 1.32% in March from the previous month, by 2,748 people to a total of 205,007 people, a record low for the month of March. (Reporting by Tiago Brandao; Editing by David Latona)
