Dubai, UAE: The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government’s (MBRSG) Board of Trustees held its first meeting, headed by its Chairman His Excellency Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, with various topics on the agenda, including MBRSG’s achievements in 2020 responding to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on activities.

The meeting brought together all board members, namely, H.E. Dr. Ali Bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG; H.E. Younus Al Nasser, Assistant Director General of Smart Dubai and CEO of the Dubai Data Establishment; H.E. Ms. Aisha Abdulla Miran, Assistant Secretary-General of the Strategy Management and Governance Sector at the Dubai Executive Council; Dr. Tayeb Amanullah Kamali, Director General for Education and Training Development at the Ministry of Interior; Mrs. Raja Al Mazrouei, Executive Vice President of FinTech Hive; Dr. Yasar Jarrar, Managing Partner at International Advisory Group (IAG); and Rasha Suleiman, Director of the Executive President’s Office and Legal Affairs Department at MBRSG.

The Board held its meeting following the implementation of Executive Council Resolution No. (9) for the year 2021 to form the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government. During the meeting, the board assigned Her Excellency Ms. Aisha Abdulla Miran to the role of Vice Chairman, and Ms. Rasha Suleiman as the Secretary of the Board. The attendees unanimously agreed that MBRSG possesses the expertise that enable it to provide innovative work models that contribute to finding solutions to the various challenges facing governments in the region. Despite the repercussions of “Covid 19” pandemic, MBRSG was able to invest its capabilities to turn this into an opportunity and achieve more milestones. This is inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who works according to an advanced methodology in order to enhance the readiness of Dubai and the UAE under all circumstances.

His Excellency Abdullah Al Falasi said: “The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government employed the latest strategic directions during 2020 to implement them in various economic sectors and in cooperation with its local and international partners, in addition to developing the internal work operations according to the latest systems of smart education, training and consultancy. MBRSG has continued to prepare leaders in the public and private sectors, qualifying employees and raise their readiness to deal with the challenges of the coming years according to innovative approached.’

For his part, H.E. Dr. Ali Bin Sebaa Al Marri said: “The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government is keen to provide the best practices and visions to develop the performance of public and private sector institutions according to an innovative approach. We are confident that the new Board of Trustees is an added value for MBRSG that will enhance its capabilities to find solutions to all the challenges facing governments of the UAE and the region. We look forward, alongside the Board, to bringing about comprehensive developments for MBRSG at both the academic and advisory levels, and to supply the national workforce with qualified professionals who contribute to the comprehensive development process.”

Moreover, members of the Board took turns presenting their vision for the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government in the period ahead, setting scenarios to ensure outstanding performance, and outlining plans to optimally allocate resources to achieve it. The Board members called for plans and initiatives that help regulate upcoming activities and drive the transition towards a tech-based approach to training and transferring knowledge.

The Board has also discussed the Advanced Public Policy Expert Programme presented by MBRSG in two batches in November and December 2020, stressing that the programme was designed in accordance with international best practices and presented by lecturers experienced in public policy. A total of 42 participants have completed the programme’s requirements so far.
