Version 10, the most powerful version yet includes over 30 new features and access to 100,000 pieces of content

SMART Technologies has announced the launch of version 10 of its Notebook™ collaborative learning software, which offers over 30 new features that make lesson creation and delivery even easier and learning more exciting and fun. The latest version of one of the most popular collaborative learning software products in the world now includes access to more than 100,000 new pieces of educational content and an updated teachers' resource hub, which connects teachers to hundreds of lesson activities and offers tools that help them use Notebook software 10 more effectively. Version 10 also offers support for five additional languages, which brings the total to 41.

Every school day, millions of teachers and students around the world experience the way Notebook software integrates seamlessly with the SMART Board™ interactive whiteboard. The new features are built on feedback provided by teachers and students, and include the following: The Table Tool enables users to create rows and columns, even asymmetrically, and to change table properties; Shape Pen lets users draw freehand circles and other shapes that are instantly recognized and perfected; Page Recording records the teaching of a concept step by step for later replay without repeating the opening of menus or applications. The addition of these and other features make Notebook software 10 the most powerful version yet.

"Teachers around the world are increasingly relying on digital learning environments and content," said Nancy Knowlton, SMART's CEO. "The many new features in Notebook software 10 and its overall ease of use reinforce our goal of making teaching and learning effective and engaging."

"SMART's Notebook software has always been popular with teachers in the Middle East due to the distinctive advantages it presents during the process of lesson creation, and now with the availability of the latest version, this software is certain to witness increased demand in the regional market," said Jeevan Bhingarkar, Director, Imark Distribution, SMART's authorised Middle East distributor.

Select new features of version 10:

Table Tool - Easily create a table from the Notebook software toolbar, and then insert, or drag and drop text, images and objects into any cell. Add or delete individual cells to create asymmetric tables.

Object Animation - Animate any Notebook software object with effects such as fading in, flying in or spinning.

Page Recording ? Teach a concept in Notebook software and record each step. In the replay, students will only see the notes.

Magic Pen - Use this three-in-one tool to spotlight, magnify or zoom in on an image, or write notes that will disappear in 10 seconds.

Active Alignment - Format a Notebook page with this tool that accurately aligns objects to other objects.

Shape Pen - Draw any freehand shape on the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, and the software recognizes it and perfects it.

Themes ? Create design features such as font, background color and images, and apply them to Notebook pages.

Page Groups ? Organize the pages of a Notebook file into groups. Drag pages into the groups, add new pages and show one group at a time in the Page Sorter.

More content ? Over 100,000 new pieces of content are easily searchable within Notebook software's Gallery.

Enhanced support ? An updated teachers' resource hub is directly accessible through Notebook software's Welcome Center. The hub contains access to hundreds of lesson activities and other resources to help teachers easily create lessons.
