The Telecommunication Operator Project Gathers Information for Two Million Subscribers in a Single Database
FLORIAN?POLIS, Santa Catarina, Brazil (Futurecom 2003) - SchlumbergerSema, the information technology (IT) business segment of Schlumberger Limited, announced today that it has successfully integrated all billing and customer care systems for Telemig Cellular, and for Amazonia Cellular.
Telemig Cellular is the leading telecommunications operator in Minas Gerais and Amazonia Cellular a leader in the wireless industry in Brazil. The systems integration project included reviewing business processes and consolidating the billing and customer care systems for both operators, increasing efficiencies through a unified approach.
SchlumbergerSema was selected as the primary integrator for the entire billing and CRM solution, including architecture, implementation, integrations and tests, data migration, process re-design, change management and coordination of all suppliers involved in the project.
SchlumbergerSema is also providing the billing and invoicing tool based on the BSCS 6.2 platform. This platform compounds sophisticated functions addressing new technology-based services, developed to match the most varied business models with high integration capabilities as well as multi-company and multi-technology support (including GSM, TDMA, CDMA, etc.). "The BSCS software directly and positively impacts the customer relationship, since it is based on customer behavior and services utilization of each subscriber," said Tereza Borges, SchlumbergerSema account manager.
To reach this level of strategic integration and alignment, the project had to go beyond the technology environment, touching all Telemig collaborators. "We know the customer relationship success is directly related to the organizational culture. We performed a large review of our process, internal communication campaigns, training and corporate change management," said Tulio Silva, Telemig Systems manager in charge of the solution.
The two million subscribers of Telemig Cellular and additional one million subscribers of Amazonia Cellular are the major beneficiaries of the project. The entire customer relationship interface -- dealers, call centers, venues and stores -- are integrated and implemented using the same database and customer care culture.
