DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Raytheon Technologies, one of the world’s leading aerospace and defense systems providers, will present new solutions to help support growth of commercial air travel after COVID-19, as well as research and development of platforms and systems aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of both its aerospace and defense customers, among a wide range of other commercial and defense-related capabilities, at the Dubai Airshow 2021.

Taking place from November 14-18 at Al Maktoum International Airport, the Dubai Airshow will be the first edition of the global air show since the creation of Raytheon Technologies in April 2020, following the merger between Raytheon Company and United Technologies Corporation.

Today, Raytheon Technologies comprises four businesses: Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Raytheon Intelligence & Space and Raytheon Missiles & Defense.

“Our combined company can now deliver technologies and capabilities to benefit our customers like never before,” said Alan Davis, chief executive of Abu Dhabi-based Raytheon Emirates (REL), a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies. “We are looking forward to highlighting critical defensive capabilities such as our early warning radar, solutions to counter the growing threat of unmanned aircraft systems, and GhostEye™, the lower tier air and missile defense radar advancing through development for the US Army.”

Raytheon Technologies’ role in redefining the passenger journey in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic will be an important topic at this year’s event. Experts will be on hand to talk about solutions available, including touch-free kiosks and biometric-enabled passenger processing systems.

And with sustainability an increasingly pressing customer concern, Collins will demonstrate its commitment to developing lighter and more efficient aircraft systems solutions that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while Pratt & Whitney will share its plans to further develop gas turbine efficiency. The company will also discuss its development of a variety of low-carbon solutions for both the military and civilian sectors, such as electric and hybrid electric propulsion solutions, lower emission radars and more fuel-efficient defense systems.

Among the other defense solutions displayed throughout the Dubai Airshow, Raytheon Technologies will present its capabilities in high energy lasers, counter unmanned aircraft systems, integrated air and missile defense, air dominance solutions, secure communications and navigation, command and control, integrated avionics and ejection seats.

Also in focus will be the company’s leadership in the multi-domain battlespace, based on its ability to seamlessly connect mission-critical platforms in air, land, sea, cyber and space.

Held under the theme ‘The Future of Aerospace’, the Dubai Airshow 2021 will feature more than 1,200 exhibitors, representatives from 148 countries and 20 national pavilions.
