Doha, Qatar: RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) was recently conferred the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Company of the Year Award at the 6th annual Arabian Business Qatar Awards.

RasGas was nominated by 157 local businessmen, industry leaders, and influencers as leading role model in CSR practices among various sectors and companies in Qatar. This recognition follows the 2014 third place achieved at the regional Arabia CSR Awards.

The Arabian Business Award is a premier event in the regional business calendar, which honours the biggest names in the Gulf business community, celebrating the best achievements both on a corporate and individual level.

Hamad Mubarak Al Muhannadi, RasGas CEO, commented on the award: "At RasGas, we take great pride in receiving such an important recognition for our positive contribution to the community, our commitment to sustainable development, spreading better practices, and actively supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030."

About RasGas
RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is a Qatari joint stock company established in 2001 by Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil RasGas Inc. RasGas acts as the operating company for and on behalf of the owners of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects RL, RL (II) and RL3 (Project Owners).  With operations facilities based in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar, RasGas' principal activities are to extract, process, liquefy, store and export LNG and its derivatives from Qatar's North Field. RasGas, on behalf of the Project Owners, exports to countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas with a total LNG production capacity of approximately 37 million tonnes per annum.

RasGas currently operates the Ras Laffan Helium Plant which was established in 2003 and came on stream in 2005. The plant extracts, purifies and liquefies helium from the North Field.
