Qtel conducted a full day training session at the Four Seasons Hotel on November 23, 2005, for around 150 mobile phone dealers on the new MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) Pay-Per-Event service.
Through the training, Qtel aimed to educate dealers on how to configure customers' handsets to enable MMS and to introduce the new pricing scheme.
"Our dealers are also our business partners. That is why it's vital to educate them about our services and create win-win relationships with them, where they benefit as much as our customers do from our products and services," said Soren Sorenson, Qtel's Wireless Senior Sales Manager.
During the event, 150 mobile phone dealers were taught how to set different MMS handsets available in Qatar. The agents were trained on the mobile phone brands Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, Siemens, Sony Ericsson, Alcatel and LG.
The agents who successfully made it through the course received official certification and an MMS door-sticker stating 'MMS Authorised Dealer'. Now Qtel customers can identify MMS certified dealers by the sticker on the door and their staff will be able to configure the mobile phones.
"After this training session, our dealers will be able to demonstrate the various aspects of MMS and how customers can send pictures, videos and audio files to any mobile or email address," continued Soren Sorenson.
MMS was previously offered as part of a promotion only to Postpaid customers for a monthly subscription fee of QR20.
Now, the MMS is conveniently priced per message to enable both Postpaid and Prepaid customers to send and receive pictures, videos and audio files.
Qtel acknowledged the excellent support of Consolidated Gulf Co (Nokia), Intertec Group W.L.L (Samsung), Qatar Mobile Tel. & Comm System (Motorola), Business Communications Qatar (Siemens), Qatar Communications Company (Sony Ericsson), Teleco Serv. International Co (Alcatel), and Video Home & Electronic Centre (LG) during the MMS mobile phone dealer seminar.
