Ambulance service for local community enhanced by meeting international standards

Abu Dhabi - National Ambulance has been awarded a Kronos Best Practice award. It follows the implementation of the Kronos workforce planning and resource management system during 2016. The award was presented to National Ambulance during Kronos Live Middle East which was recently held in The Address hotel, Dubai.

Kronos is an intelligent workforce planning and management system recognised as a leading international standard. It is designed to assess the effectiveness of current deployment of staff and identify ways to make improvements through a time collection and analysis of employees. During 2016, National Ambulance implemented Kronos across its workforce that resulted in: increased productivity; flexibility and responsiveness when crewing ambulances; optimised resource utilisation; improved efficiency in managing staff assignments and time keeping; and decreased overtime costs.

The Kronos system automates the planning of work schedules and shifts to support quality care and satisfied employees and is used by leading companies around the world. It enables managers to create schedules that align staffing levels with anticipated patient demand, and all while adhering to company and regulatory policies. This results in an increase in productivity and improved results for key metrics without compromising quality care.

National Ambulance provides round-the-clock emergency pre-hospital care in the Northern Emirates through the dedicated 998 emergency ambulance number. National Ambulance also works with government and private clients across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to support their requirements; ranging from short-term engagements such as public events through a dedicated team to long-term engagements including constant onsite emergency medical support and patient transfer.
