Jacques R. Saade gathers a number of Lebanese political, economic and industrial figures in order to develop the exports of fruits and vegetables from Lebanon
On the occasion of the launching of new calls in Beirut, Mr. Jacques Saadé, CEO and founder of CMA CGM Group, gathered several political and economic figures, as well as major fruit and vegetable producers for lunch at Phoenicia hotel.
Guests included Mr. Hussein Hajj Hassan, Minister of Industry, Mr. Adnan Kassar, former Minister and President of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries, Me. Nawar El-Sahili, Deputy and Lawyer, Mr. Gaby Tamer, President of the Franco- Lebanese Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Fadi Gemayel, President of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists, Mr. Nabil Itani, President of the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL), Mr. Naim Khalil, President of the Farmers' Syndicate, Mrs. Tanya Saadé Zeenny, Executive Vice- President of CMA CGM Group, Mr. Joe Dakkak, General Manager of CMA CGM Liban, Mr. Elie Zeenny, Director of Central CMA CGM, Group Information Systems, and Mr. Alexis Michel, Central Director Logistics & Reefer.
The event was also attended by many Lebanese fruit and vegetable exporters, including the President of the Farmers' Syndicate, Mr. Naim Khalil who considered these two additional maritime services as new export solutions to Djeddah, the Guf countries, the Red Sea and the Indian subcontinent.
Prior to this meeting, Mr. Hussein Hajj Hassan, Minister of Industry, and various fruit exporters visited the container ship CMA CGM IVANHOE during its first call at the port of Beirut within the scope of the Group's new maritime services.
By increasing the frequency of the calls of the Group's ships in Lebanon, and by adding new calls in Beirut on two of its services (EPIC and MEX), CMA CGM is placing Lebanon at the heart of world exchanges by linking the country to the North of Europe, the Mediterranean basin, the Black Sea, the Red Sea and the Arab Gulf.
Mr. Jacques R. Saade declared "I was keen on launching these two new services from Beirut to help Lebanese fruit and vegetable producers develop their exports to Gulf countries and other destinations around the world. I also wanted to show my attachment and my solidarity to Lebanon and its economy".
