Microsoft Solomon, Retail Management System, Navision Axapta and Great Plains release 7.5 on preview of the art business applications unveiled

Dubai, October 19, 2003: Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) today unveiled a new range of its business applications at Gitex 2003. Products being showcased include MBS Solomon, Retail Management System, Navision Axapta, a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, and Great Plains release 7.5, in addition to previews of its Business Portal and Customer Relationship Management  (CRM) solutions, which are scheduled for release at the end of the year.

“Our applications and services are designed to automate unique business processes and accelerate the success of organizations,” said Soha Kamal, Product Manager, MBS. “The new releases reflect Microsoft’s commitment to building the best solutions for customers across businesses of all sizes.”

Microsoft Navision Axapta is the most comprehensive, mid-market ERP solution available today and allows customers to expand their businesses quickly and rapidly extend their business processes to the Internet. Axapta provides mid-market enterprises with a solid foundation to collaborate successfully with their customers, partners, employees and suppliers.

The solution’s functionality spans manufacturing, distribution, supply chain management, project management, financial management, customer relationship management, human resource management and business analysis. Axapta complies with local legal and accounting requirements and runs in multiple languages and currencies.

MBS Great Plains release 7.5 delivers expanded capabilities to help businesses improve efficiency and profitability and responds rapidly to customer demand, empowers management and employees and expands the reach of information and processes across the global enterprise.

“Great Plains release 7.5 delivers more effective distribution management, expanded reporting capabilities, flexible expense management, extended integration and many more features,” said Kamal.

Scheduled for release in the Middle East by the end of the calendar year, Microsoft CRM is also being previewed at the stand. It has been developed to offer businesses an easy-to-use and powerful tool for building lasting and profitable relationships with their customers.

“Microsoft CRM enables businesses to take advantage of technology and related services that were previously reserved for big companies with sizable IT budgets. The global demand for a thin client and Microsoft Outlook based CRM solution, built on a single platform and developed with leading technologies, has been overwhelming,” commented Kamal.

MBS is also previewing, for the first time its innovative Business Portal solution, an application that allows our customers to have immediate, web-based, secure access to information from a single Web-based portal.

“Built on Microsoft .NET technologies, Business Portal integrates seamlessly with Great Plains and Solomon systems to deliver applications, information, and processes to employees, customers and partners across the enterprise,” concluded Kamal.
