Company target to provide turnkey testing facilities outside the UAE
Micro Automation Industries (MAI), a Dubai-based manufacturer and premium member of the Dubai SME 100 and Dubai Export, has launched its own testing laboratory to conduct quality testing on all Powermatic products in accordance to international safety standards.
The company invested on several testing equipment and machines designed to ensure quality and safety of all MAI's range of products. One of the testing equipment ensures that all Powermatic materials are non-flammable as well as conducts heat tests to guarantee fire resistance, wherein the product is exposed to extreme temperatures up to 100 degrees Celsius for an hour.
Meanwhile, the plug-and-socket-testing unit ensures the durability and breaking capacity of plugs while the plug is being inserted and removed into the socket. Several tests conducted showed that the products withstood being plugged in and out of the socket for 10,000 times without being out of specification.
"It has always been our aim at Micro Automation to uphold the highest quality and safety standards for our entire range of Powermatic products. By having our own testing laboratory, our customers are assured that our products are tested according to the requirements by the regulatory authorities in the UAE as well as the other countries where our products are sold," said Hazim Al-Hajjaj, Managing Director of Micro Automation Industries.
"The testing laboratory has been inspected by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) and by having it in our Jebel Ali Facility allows us to speed up the development process and certify that the safety standards of products are being checked continuously unlike similar products in the market. The testing equipment is an important investment for us as we strictly implement the quality of all our products, which are widely exported outside the UAE," he added.
Micro Automation's new testing laboratory provided a new market to conduct quality product testing on similar products locally and regionally. Currently, the company was approached by several government agencies outside the UAE to provide quality yet low-cost testing facility as well as to share the experience in product testing.
"We are now working closely with several agencies abroad to provide turn-key facility for safety testing of electrical accessories. This will ensure the continued growth of Micro Automation not only in providing quality testing equipment, but also providing training in testing technique for both products and the material used. This will gives credibility to our products having Powermatic brand" Al Hajjaj said.
Micro Automation, an ISO 9001-2008 certified, was recently awarded the Emirates Quality Mark by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA).
