Dubai: marhaba, part of dnata and one of the world‘s fastest growing passenger services providers, is going back to the roots of the country in which it was founded by transforming its lounges at Dubai International (DXB), themed around the rich traditions of the UAE, in celebration of the nation’s 50th anniversary.

Two of the Dubai-based marhaba lounges have now been re-designed to include a dedicated Majlis, unique experiences with photography and calligraphy in partnership with local artists, and to showcase a bespoke, locally-inspired menu.

Dubai passengers will have the chance to interact with marhaba’s range of UAE-themed activations within its Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, Concourse B lounges, from now until 4th December 2021.

Steve Allen, dnata’s Executive Vice President, said: "As marhaba celebrates 30 years of supporting millions of travellers in 2021, we are proud to be celebrating in tandem the 50th anniversary of the UAE – the country in which the brand was founded and we call our home.

"Over the past 30 years marhaba has grown with the UAE as part of its journey to become one of the world’s leading transport hubs. Today, it offers best-in-class Lounge and Meet & Greet Services in six countries, bringing Arabian hospitality from Dubai to the world.

"This unique lounge activation our marhaba team is running in Dubai as part of UAE National Day celebrations will allow a new generation of travellers to experience the culture and traditions of the UAE in new and special ways."

Passengers visiting marhaba lounges at DXB will have the chance to experience a traditional Majlis as a meeting point as part of their journey, sample local UAE delicacies as part of a bespoke menu, and have their name written in Arabic by a limited-time resident calligraphy artist.

marhaba is also partnering with a local photographer to display a range of impressive UAE-themed images throughout the lounges. Dubai-based ‘Visuals by Preet’ is known for producing vibrant, ‘dreamlike’ visuals of the country’s most beautiful locations with a focus on emphasising "a lesser-seen, quirkier interpretation of Dubai’s heritage".

Discover marhaba’s new UAE-themed lounge designs across its locations in Dubai International’s Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, Concourse B, from 28th November to 4th December 2021.

The marhaba brand is part of dnata, a leading global air and travel services provider. A trusted partner of over 300 airline customers, dnata offers ground handling, cargo, catering and travel services in 36 countries.
