Amman - Jordan, 6th of December 2011: Jordan District Energy has recently signed partnership agreement with Apina to operate and maintain the district heating and cooling plant, ETS's and piping network of the Abdali Project early next year.

Throughout this cooperation, Jordan District Energy aims to apply and introduce the latest cooling and heating systems to the Abdali Project, which are environmentally friendly if to compare with traditional systems, throughout cutting down on energy and water consumption by establishing a modern central cooling and heating plant in line with the modern face of the Abdali Project that aims to provide a modern lifestyle for its users.

Commenting on this step, Mr. George Amireh, JDE Acting General Manager said: "We are delighted to cooperate with Apina to bring the best expertise in managing and operating the cooling and heating systems in the Abdali Project, within the highest levels of quality and using the latest technology to ensure comfort in the usage of the project facilities.

Apina's Commercial Director Mr. Carlos de Ceballos, commented: "We are delighted that Jordan District Energy has chosen us to operate and maintain the district heating and cooling plant. This reflects their trust and ensures our expertise in this field." He added: "Our participation in this project comes in line with our strategy to have presence in the most vital and global projects such as Al Abdali Project, which is considered as one of the largest and most important urban projects in Jordan and the region."

The systems have been designed in an environment-friendly manner throughout using modernized and improved cooling systems that save water and electricity. The systems also have thermal power storage systems that assist in cutting down the electricity consumption in peak times, along with power consumption systems that store thermal energy which is utilized at night when the temperature is cooler than during day time.

The district cooling and heating plants have various benefits besides high quality and economic efficiency, whereby users of the Abdali Project facilities and its inhabitants and investors can benefit throughout the day without the burden of maintenance costs or having to purchase or operate cooling and heating systems.
