Winning designs manufactured at Gold & Diamond Park
Dubai, May 26, 2003: Thamina Jewellery, one of the flagship brands at Gold & Diamond Park which specialises in exclusive pearl and diamond jewellery manufacturing, walked away with four awards at the Tahitian Pearl Trophy Competition this year.
Commenting upon the success, Mr. Manan Desai, Manager, Gold & Diamond Park, the UAE’s exclusive jewellery and manufacturing outlet, said: “We are extremely happy with Thamina’s accomplishment, which is a clear reflection of the quality and international standards of GDP tenants. This serves to further enhance the reputation of Dubai as The City of Gold, Diamonds and Pearls.”
Stylish and intricately designed Thamina creations in gold and pearls emerged winners in the bracelet (first and second), accessory (first) and necklace (second) categories. A jury comprising members of the international specialised press selected the winning designs. The remaining ten categories for entries included sets (necklaces and earrings), pendant, pin, brooch, earrings, ring, pearl row and men’s jewellery.
The winning collections were exhibited at some of the world’s leading jewellery fairs including New York, Paris, Vicenza, Basle, Beirut, Las Vegas, Palm Beach and Hong Kong.
“We are delighted that our work has been honoured at Tahitian Pearl Trophy 2002, which is renowned as the most prestigious contest for jewellery designers worldwide. Thamina specialises in custom-made pearl and diamond jewellery collections. Our endeavour is to create world-class designs, which reflect a blend of the East and West and can be customised to suit the select tastes of our diverse customers, ” said Mr. Najmuddin Sathak, Managing Director, Thamina Jewellery.
Headquartered at GDP for the last two years, Thamina is an offshoot of Beyroha General Trading L.L.C., a cutting-edge diamond company and Jumana Jewellery Co. L. L. C., which specialises in the farming and trading of fine south sea pearls. The company boasts a local manufacturing unit, where the lustrous diamonds and pearls from its mother companies are handcrafted into precious creations.
“This achievement comes at a strategic time for Thamina as we are planning to expand our manufacturing base in the Middle East by enhancing the strength and technology skills of our local workers, ” Mr. Sathak continued.
The Tahitian Pearl Trophy is a bi-annual, international jewellery design contest, which aims to valorise the Tahiti Cultured Pearls. An initiative of G.I.E. Perles De Tahiti (Tahiti Pearl Association), the official promotion body of French Polynesia's pearling industry, the contest is now in its second year.
The winning entries are published in limited edition Tahitian Pearl Trophy- a beautiful, hard backed cover book. The book is edited and published by G.I.E. Perles de Tahiti and distributed worldwide.
