Chamber Director General receives chairman of the Indian IT giant and lauds Dubai's role in attracting FDIs by large-scale overseas companies
Dubai, UAE: HE Eng Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, welcomed Shiv Nadar, Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of Indian IT giant HCL Technologies on the occasion of his visit to Dubai to inaugurate the company's headquarters in the Emirate yesterday.
The Director General of Dubai Chamber received Shiv Nadar along with Virender Aggarwal, Senior Vice-President, APAC, Asia, Middle East, Africa & CIS and Manish Mishra, Vice-President, Middle East of HCL Technologies at the Chamber premises and highlighted Dubai's role in attracting foreign direct investments. The Indian IT giant's annual revenue runs into $5billion.
Buamim said that as a gateway to the region Dubai offers excellent opportunities to all business communities to carry out their global operations from the Emirate. He highlighted the facilities available for large-scale international companies in trading, banking and finance, consultancy, exports and re-exports and logistics, especially information technology which he said is poised for a remarkable growth in the region.
The Director General also assured the delegation of the Government's role in supporting the private sector saying that Dubai is one of the first cities in the world to recover from the global financial crisis. He also stressed on Dubai being a safe haven for businesses thanks to its free economy and open market policies that allow investors to repatriate their hard-earned money back home.
Buamim reiterated the Chamber's strategic objectives of creating a favourable business environment, supporting the development of business and promoting Dubai as an international business hub and how these objectives were serving the needs of the business community and the investors in Dubai.
On his part, Shiv Nadar thanked Dubai Chamber for its unprecedented support to new businesses and said that it is the open door policy of the city that has attracted his company to open up their regional headquarters in the Emirate.
