Dubai: du adds life to the UAE once again in a new film that they are sponsoring, 'The Emirates Revealed', a TV film documentary to be directed by the Discovery Channel that is scheduled to air on the Discovery Channel HD Theater in 2009.
The Concept for 'The Emirates Revealed' is primarily to honour the seven rulers of The Emirates. It will showcase the numerous achievements of the UAE which have placed the nation at the forefront of global economic dominance. The film will look at the diverse economy which does not depend only on the huge revenues from oil and gas. While the UAE continues to surge ahead, accomplishing iconic projects that set new international standards of excellence, the film will look at the vision behind the UAE and what is driving it forward at such a rapid pace.
Explaining du's role in this project, Hala Badri, EVP Corporate Communications, du said: "Protecting and promoting the UAE and its unique culture and heritage is something du is committed to, from a Corporate Social Responsibility point of view. We have found the ideal partners in both Discovery and the Image Makers, as they share our vision and so can effectively bring it to life. This film will enable people around the world to know more about the UAE and understand it better, which makes all of us at du very proud to be associated with this project."
The film will showcase the UAE to a global audience on the Discovery Channel network that spans from China to the U.S. The program will also have a web presence on the Discovery Channel website dedicated to the show that will have highlights and more information on the country. Further, the film will be sold at airports in DVD format and be re-edited for use on in-flight channels promoting the country to visitors in HD film.
The team from Discovery Channel Studios led by Robin Sestero, vice president, and Rob Burk, Discovery executive producer, are conducting a public relations tour of the UAE organized by the sponsor du and the producers The Image Maker. The tour has covered the natural beauty, business and tourism destinations in the UAE and will mark the initial production preparation for 'The Emirates - Revealed' project that will cover all 7 Emirates. Filming will start around the end of November for ideal HD quality.
