Dubai, UAE, 17 June 2010: - Canon Middle East has today announced the launch of the imageFORMULA P-150M to meet a significant demand from Apple Macintosh users for a stylish, high-speed portable scanner.

Following the Middle East launch of the award-winning* Canon imageFORMULA P-150 which offers customers a highly portable  'scan-anywhere' solution, Canon's new version comes with a powerful bundled software package specifically for Mac systems.

The imageFORMULA P-150M offers versatile  cross platform compatibility for users working across various system environments, such as Windows and Linux**. The unique built-in CaptureOnTouch Lite software also provides 'plug-and-scan' functionality, without needing to install any application or driver software.

Whilst sharing many of the features of the popular imageFORMULA P-150 - including a black piano finish, compact design and fast USB-powered scanning - the P-150M will present a versatile approach to scanning in Mac environments. These will span traditional creative industries, marketers, and education establishments, through to more mainstream audiences, general office use and home workers. With batch-scanning capabilities of 15ppm, Mac users can now benefit from improved productivity from any location, whether in the office, on the move or at home.

The user friendly CaptureOnTouch software provides easy convenient scanning with a pre-configured scan jobs including scanning directly to Mac's iPhoto application. By synchronising iPhoto with iTunes users can conveniently transfer their scans to their iPhone or iPod devices, for mobile viewing.

Users also have the option as part of the installation process to install cloud-based data management software Evernote and add the "Scan-to-Evernote" JOB profile to the CaptureOnTouch software. With a simple one click operation users can upload and share information with any internet-enabled PC from anywhere on the globe.

Also included with the P-150M is a powerful software suite of BizCard Reader and PageManager for easy and improved filing, management and retrieval of business contact information and digital documents.

The imageFORMULA P-150M is available across Middle East to purchase through accredited Canon partners. For existing imageFORMULA P-150 users, a Mac driver is also available for download from the Canon's support website.

*The Canon imageFORMULA P-150 recently won the prestigious iF Design Award for its design and functionality.

** ISIS &TWAIN for Windows are provided with the P-150M scanner.  A SANE Linux driver for the P-150/P-150M can be downloaded from Canons Software support site.
