• Event will support aspiring DJs with the key skills needed to take their mixes to the next level

The British Council is bringing a unique DJ workshop to Dubai on Saturday 12 February, hosted by one of the UK’s brightest talents, Jamz Supernova, fresh from her live set at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre stage, Expo 2020 Dubai. As part of its remit to promote UK arts and culture, and in line with the UAE Ministry for Culture’s drive to nurture local creative industries, the workshop will welcome over 30 budding DJs for a masterclass in mixing from the leading lights of the UK’s emerging music scene.

Taking place at the Kave, Al Serkal, the workshop is running from 2pm – 6pm, in 45 minutes sessions, and is open to everyone from the budding bedroom DJs to the semi-professional pioneers wanting to polish their equalizing skills, sign up at: https://www.britishcouncil.ae/en/events/learn-how-dj-workshop-session

The British Council Country Director for the United Arab Emirates, Aida Salamanca explained, “We are thrilled to be able to provide a unique educational opportunity for emerging talent in the UAE music scene. The workshops offer a fantastic platform for local DJs to exchange knowledge and experience with the hugely talented, Jamz Supernova, from our own Selector Radio, and a champion of new music in the UK music industry.”

The workshop will be supported by Megatronic, a well-known figure in the local music industry both here and in the UK, and Femme Fest, one of the UK’s hottest music festivals penciled to take place in Dubai in late March.

Commenting on the workshops, Jamz Supernova said, “My passion is working with emerging talent and being able to share my knowledge with the next generation of headline DJs! I’m really excited to be able to do that through the hands-on workshops we’re delivering. The set-up will be as you’d expect to see in a DJ booth at any club or on any stage, providing invaluable experience to everyone there.”

Jamz Supernova is spearheading the next generation of radio DJs with her residencies on tastemaker stations BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC 6Music and Selector Radio. She will be playing live at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre stage at 21:45 on UK National Day, 10 February, at Expo 2020 Dubai.
