Over 150 Dentists Learn about Latest Techniques in BUIDRE's Third Continuing Education Programme

Dubai: 18 May, 2009 - The Boston University Institute for Dental Research and Education Dubai (BUIDRE), a member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center, today announced the region's first conference on 'Advances in Dentistry - Modern Endodontics' highlighted the changing technologies for endodontic diagnosis and treatment to over 150 dental professionals.

Part of Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), a member of Tatweer, BUIDRE's third in the series of continuing education (CE) programmes was held on 16 May at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.

Reviewed and approved by the department of Continuing Medical Education at HMSDC for a maximum of six CME credit hours, the programme was led by experts in endodontics and related professions, including faculty members from BUIDRE.

The Ministry of Health, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Center for Healthcare Planning & Quality (CPQ) and the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD), recognise the credits awarded by the programme.

BUIDRE's first CE programme, conducted on 19 January, was designed to review state-of-the-art information for dentists on dental ceramic materials, microsurgery, periodontal plastic surgery, and management of trauma in primary teeth. The institute's dental programmes include endodontics, orthodontics, pediatrics, periodontology and prosthodontics. These programmes have been authorized to be offered for the Master of Science and Postgraduate Certificate as specialized branches of dentistry.

A state-of-the-art facility operating since March 2008, the Boston University Dental Health Center Dubai offers comprehensive care to patients through a multi-disciplinary team of professionals. When fully operational, the center will comprise 50 chairs sharing some 30,000 square feet of space within the institute.
