Digital Lifestyle leader appoints Trigon LLC as distributor to boost LCD TV products in the Emirates

Digital lifestyle solutions leader, BenQ Middle East, is aiming to increase its LCD TV presence in the UAE market by capturing 10 per cent of the total market share and improving its ranking to number four in the country.

BenQ, which had an overall revenue target in the Middle East of AED 350 million for 2007, has signed a new agreement with Trigon LLC, one of the leading IT distribution companies in the country, as its new LCD TV distributor in the UAE to further strengthen its sales.

"Last year, BenQ enjoyed 6.4 per cent market share in the UAE in the LCD TV category. We believe that Trigon's well-established presence and strong reputation will help us reach and even the remotest areas in the country," said Manish Bakshi, General Manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa.

The first distribution company in the UAE to be awarded ISO 9001:2000, Trigon's logistics, finances and services fit BenQ's distributor requirements to enhance the market penetration of its LCD TV. Its experienced management team and its high frequency resellers with complete coverage of IT and consumer electronics across the UAE are an added advantage in hyping up the sales of BenQ products.

"The demand for our LCD TVs across the country has risen exponentially and our new Full High Definition models incorporate cutting-edge technology and futuristic design, which will spur on this growth. Trigon's excellent brand representation such as Viewsonic, Samsung and LG as well as its understanding of the market will help position BenQ LCD TVs as one of the preferred brands in the UAE," Bakshi added.

Trigon LLC, an Al Ghurair-owned company, was one of the first partners of BenQ in the Middle East, dating back to 2001 and has been instrumental in distributing BenQ products including digital cameras, monitors and projectors.

"BenQ and Trigon share the same vision of providing consumers with cutting-edge technologies in consumer electronics," said Arun Chawla, Chief Operating Officer, Trigon LLC. "Our partnership proved to be successful and we look forward to increasing the company's market share in the LCD TV segment to ensure more profitable growth for us both."
