As part of Sabre Travel Network Middle East's commitment to continuously investing in the development of the region's travel industry and the expansion of its value offering to travel industry professionals, it has today signed its first ever agreement with Al Manar University of Tripoli in Northern Lebanon. The world's leading supplier of travel distribution services, Sabre will begin providing a number of introductory and advanced courses to trainees interested in breaking into the travel industry, which is currently experiencing massive growth throughout the Levant.
Sabre has provided comprehensive training to a certified instructor who will be responsible for teaching the Sabre courses at the University. The courses are designed to introduce students to the Sabre Reservations System, as well as teach them the basics of fares, pricing, ticketing, refund and revalidation, and is part of an educational initiative targeting entry level travel industry professionals around the region, which will help give those students an extra skills set, and thereby an advantage, when entering into the travel market.
"We are big supporters of education here at Sabre, and this agreement is part of a larger regional drive to help students get a leg up in the industry. This is one of the first agreements of its kind we have penned in the region, and we plan on expanding the scope and geographical spread of it as time goes on to encompass universities and training institutes all over the GCC," said Daniel Naoumovitch, CEO of Sabre Travel Network Middle East.
Sabre is the first GDS to provide this kind of training content to a third party training institute in the region, and the initiative falls under the company's wider plan of working closely with local travel communities to expand its services into different sectors and provide value added services to travel professionals across the board.
Sabre is at the forefront of one of the world's fastest growing industries. Travel agencies across the Middle East region use Sabre's wide product range as tools to maximise their customer offer in addition to having the support of Sabre's 16 offices in 11 countries across the Middle East and the Levant.
