Laserfiche has just launched the English release of its latest version 8 application, which kicks off the next generation of Laserfiche products and represents over three years of direct development work. The release which will soon have an Arabic version includes the following packages:
Laserfiche Server 8 - Includes the Server, the all-new Search Engine, Audit Trail and Records Management Edition.
Laserfiche Client 8 - Includes the Client, Scanning, Snapshot (now integrated into the main Client installation) and the E-Mail Plug-in.
Workflow 8 - Includes the Workflow Designer, Server and Notification Subscriber
Laserfiche 8 offers enhanced scalability, robustness, and full Unicode support, as well as a powerful new search and indexing framework. Administrative tasks are simplified by direct interaction with Active Directory, more granular control over documents and metadata through security features and auditing, and the HTTP/WebDAV protocol. Overall usability has been improved with the addition of new features, including enhanced template and field functionality, many new annotation types, new search and navigation toolbars, and a fully integrated recycle bin.

It takes advantage of the true real-time notification made possible by the Laserfiche 8 Server, features a Workflow Designer that allows users to design and customize workflows in a more flexible and user-friendly fashion, and take advantage of new workflow activities and events.
