Ethiopian Airlines is evaluating possible Airbus and Boeing wide-body plane orders and is expecting to make a decision by the end of the year, Chief Executive Mesfin Tasew said.

The carrier is looking at Airbus A350s, Boeing 787s and 777xs, Tasew told Reuters on the sidelines of the IATA annual meeting in Istanbul.

The airline is also studying Airbus A220 and Embraer E195-E2 small jets for possible purchase, he added. (Reporting by Tim Hepher, Writing by Joanna Plucinska, Editing by Louise Heavens)
