Work On Oman Formaldehyde Plant To Start In November
Construction work on Oman Formaldehyde Chemical Company’s (OFCC) project in Sohar Industrial Area is due to start by November, according to local newspaper reports. The project will have a capacity to produce 125 tons/day of urea formaldehyde concentrate (UFC) or 203 t/d of aqueous formaldehyde or a combination of both. The products are used in the fertilizer and oil industries. The plant, which is scheduled to come on-stream in 3Q 2007, will be supplied with methanol by the Oman Methanol Company, which is establishing a 3,000 t/d plant at the same location (MEES, 5 January 2004).
