In a regional banking 'first', Standard Chartered is offering a MasterCard-branded Cricket Credit Card that offers a host of special rewards and exclusive offers aimed specifically at cricket enthusiasts. Legendary Indian TV commentator Harsha Bhogle has been signed up as its brand ambassador.
The Cricket Credit Card, which is available for an annual fee of $70, is open to anyone over 21 years of age who earns a minimum of $820 a month.
Winning benefits include discounts and special packages for cricket matches and series, priority ticketing for key international tournaments, exclusive invitations to a gala cricket event in the UAE featuring international cricket celebrities during the first membership year, a complimentary AED250 voucher for Adidas sporting goods, 25% off bookings at Dubai's Insportz cricket centre in Al Quoz and discounts on air tickets booked at MMI Travel.
All Standard Chartered MasterCard Cricket Credit Card members who activate their credit cards on or before June 14 2005 will enter a draw to win an all expense paid package to the NatWest Series 2005 finals at Lords in London.
In 2004, the bank reported pre-tax profits of $2.15 billion, with revenues rising by 13%.
