DUBAI -- Falcon City of Wonders, a mega project to be set up within Dubailand, has signed an agreement with leading German design firm Kling Consult to carry out the concept design for 345 villas that form part of the first phase of the project.
The agreement was signed between Salem Al Moosa, Chairman and CEO of Falcon City of Wonders, and Falah Al Salman, Associate Director, Kling Consult, in the presence of Mahmoud Rayyan, Project General Manager, Falcon City of Wonders at Cityscape 2005, which concluded yesterday at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
Kling Consult will prepare the detailed design of the villas within the Falcon City of Wonders. The first phase of the project is expected to begin by first quarter of 2006, which according to Salem Al Moosa will be adhered to strictly.
Besides 345 uniquely designed villas, the first phase will contain the corporate offices of Falcon City of Wonders as well as an educational museum to demonstrate the history of world civilisations and the development of the UAE.
"We are proud to help realise the vision of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister. The project will be a significant addition to Dubai's portfolio of landmark projects and will considerably enhance the city's reputation as a major global tourist destination," said Al Moosa.
"The agreement with Kling Consult, who has considerable expertise in the design sphere, paves the way for the development of a truly unique range of villas to be constructed in the first phase of the project," he added.
"Falcon City of Wonders is set to be the most exciting of all property developments within Dubailand. The unique concept of the project, not to mention its scale, truly makes it a one-of-a-kind development," Al Moosa opined. "It will virtually be a land of civilisations, helping educate people about the lifestyles and culture of people from different eras and from various parts of the world," he maintained.
"We are pleased to be associated with a project as high-profile as the Falcon City of Wonders," said Falah Al Salman.
"Kling Consult has been planning and implementing international construction projects for decades, with a primary focus on the Middle East region. Kling Consult will ensure the villas that comprise the first phase of the project will be one of the most distinguished residential clusters in the region."
Falcon City of Wonders which spreads over more than four million square metres will be divided into five overlapped phases. The unique, purpose-built community project features structures based on the engineering wonders of the world, such as the Pyramids, the Babylonian Gardens, the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
The project, which combines various commercial, residential, educational and leisure amenities, is shaped after the falcon, which is symbolic of the UAE's heritage.
The project will feature a fun city inspired by the era of the pharaohs, highlighted by the Pharaohs Theme Park, which will be located by the main entrance. Falcon City of Wonders will invite three specialist international consultants to determine the most suitable rides and games for the theme park.
