DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--ThyssenKrupp AG (TKA.XE) subsidiary Uhde said Monday it won a licensing, engineering and services contract to help Algeria's Sorfert Algerie Spa build a $2 billion fertilizer complex at Arzew.

Under the terms of the deal, Uhde will supply its proprietary ammonia process and the license for the urea granulation process, the company said in an emailed statement.

Uhde will also provide engineering and supply services for the fertilizer complex, located 350 kilometers northwest of Algiers, the company said without disclosing the deal's value.

The Arzew complex comprises two ammonia plants with production capacity of 2,200 tons a day and a 3,450-ton a day urea plant, due to be completed by 2011, Uhde said.

Sorfert Algerie is a joint venture of Orascom Construction Industries Algerie and state-run Sonatrach.
