Tehran - Syrian Ambassador in Tehran Hamed al-Hassan hailed the act of countries that supported Damascus in international bodies, the latest United Nations General Assembly in particular. In a meeting with his counterparts from Russia, China, Brazil, India, South Africa and Lebanon, al-Hassan appreciated "positive positions" taken by their governments towards Syria at the 66th UN General Assembly held in New York.

The meeting was also attended by one the deputies of Iran's Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi.

According to al-Hassan, the positive and logical positions of those countries barred adoption of further anti-Syria resolution at the international forums and also prevented interfering of foreign states in the internal affairs of Syria.

The ambassador voiced Damascus' readiness to "welcome the visit to Syria of any fact-finding groups which would be willing to closely witness realities inside Syria."

To this end, he added, various parliamentarian or diplomatic delegations have, so far, visited Syria from Russia, Brazil and South Africa.

Al-Hassan said during the recent tensions in Syria, about 700 people were killed and many mass graves have been found indicating crimes committed by terrorists in the country.
