Islamabad - Speaker of the Syrian People's Assembly Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham discussed on Saturday with Vice Chairman of Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Wan-su, means for developing bilateral parliamentary relations.
During their meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 6th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), al-Laham underlined the strong fraternal and friendly relations between the two countries, stressing the need for constant coordination in international forums to help realize the interests of developing countries.
He also pointed out to the US-led war waged on Syria waged using regional and Arab pawns and terrorists brought from over 83 countries, noting that Syria's delegation which is participating in the APA session seeks to inform members of participating parliaments on what is actually happening on the ground in Syria, particularly in light of the media misdirection campaigns carried out by states and channels involved in escalating the crisis in Syria.
Al-Lahham stressed that Syria withstood the war on it for over two and a half years due to the steadfastness of the Syrian people and their adherence to their leadership and army.
For his part, Kim Wan-su said that the DPRK is aware of what is happening in Syria and that it will always support the Syrian people and government, asserting that the solution to the crisis in Syria must be realized by the Syrians themselves through dialogue without foreign interference.
