SHARJAH - The Mutual Services Department at the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), in cooperation with the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), has announced the amendment of the procedures for inquiring on the beneficiaries of the discount for approving electricity, water and natural gas designs for their private homes, aiming at accelerating the delivery of services through a new mechanism that serves beneficiaries.

Mariam Obaid bin Hashem, Director of the Mutual Services Department, SEWA, explained that cooperation between SEWA and SSSD was implemented, and a number of consultative meetings were held between the Mutual Services Department and representatives of SSSD to discuss the best mechanisms and means to facilitate procedures.

Bin Hashem said that direct electronic communication was activated between both sides to facilitate the process of benefiting from the discount when approving the designs of electricity, water and gas, allowing SEWA employees of the Mutual Services Department to enter the social benefits system to validate beneficiaries data, without consulting SSSD.

She pointed that calculating the fees for approving schemes (electricity, water, and natural gas) in full, 25 per cent of the value of the schemes approving fees is deducted.

Bin Hashem added that submitting an application for approval of service schemes (electricity, water, and natural gas) for residential projects include submitting the application through an electronic platform.
