AMMAN -- Royal Jordanian (RJ) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced on Wednesday a new partnership in the field of training.
As of April 17, 2013, RJ will be able to deliver IATA training courses which would help students and aviation professionals in Jordan and the region enhance their professional competencies to meet IATA's standards, an RJ statement said.
Through the partnership, the statement said RJ would become a major IATA-accredited training centre in the region benefiting from the international quality recognition to the company's training activities.
The contract was signed at RJ's headquarters in Amman by RJ's President/CEO Amer Hadidi and IATA's Regional Vice President-Middle East and North Africa Hussein Dabbas and IATA's Head of Global Partnership and Learning Innovation Ismail Al Baidhani, in the presence of RJ's Chairman of the Board of Directors Nasser Lozi, the statement noted.
"We are proud of our human resources capabilities that allowed us to become one of the professional training centres accredited by IATA, as this will enhance our educational mission. RJ will be supporting the activities and initiatives of IATA by delivering quality training gained through the airline's 50 years of legacy and know how," Hadidi said.
He added that through this partnership, RJ will be able to spread its knowledge and experience in the market and contribute to the development of the air transport industry by extending its training potential and opening up opportunities for the coming generation of aviation professionals in Jordan and the region.
Dabbas said the agreement reflects IATA's confidence in the RJ human resources and their technical capabilities to offer quality training.
Courses offered by IATA in different aviation fields, like cargo, travel and tourism, will be delivered by professional instructors at Royal Jordanian. Upon successful completion of the courses, participants will receive internationally recognised certificates from IATA.
