MUSCAT -- Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) recently signed a memorandum of understanding under which it will provide a range of equipment to the Oman Association for the Disabled.  The MoU was signed by PDO Human Resources director Mundhir bin Salem al Barwani and by Yahya al Amri, Chairman, Oman Association for the Disabled.

The equipment includes more than 50 wheelchairs, hearing aids, and IT equipment as well as a pick-up vehicle. The equipment will be distributed throughout the country.  The association has offices in Sohar, in addition to its head office in Muscat, and also supports Al Wafa Social Centres throughout Oman.

PDO is paying for the equipment as part of both its coporate social-investment programme and its social-investment programme linked specifically to the development of the Mabrook oil field. Al Amri reciprocated by expressing his appreciation: "PDO has been a true partner in supporting people with special needs. We thank PDO for doing so and hope that its generosity will continue".
