Muscat - Dr Hamoud al Harthy, Under-Secretary of Ministry of Education for Education and Curriculum, inaugurated new applications titled 'Simple ways to memorise Multiplication Table, and Electronic Interactive English book for Grade 4' (Part 2), at the recently concluded Telecommunication and Information Technology, Comex 2016 exhibition. Dr Al Harthy said: "We are proud of such programmes that add to the teaching and learning process, because these programmes are produced by the Ministry of Education staff. We always repeat that we have great potentials that should be utilised, and here we today witness these energies and creativity."
The official added: "It is sure that the programmes would assist students in their learning process. They also help teachers perform their jobs fully especially that we are now in the technology and smart phones era." The under-secretary also noted that the ministry is ready to provide the necessary support to such beneficial projects. This software aims to simplify the multiplication table for the second phase students and to help them memorise by using the fingers of the hand. The software divides them into a number of points calculated by student to reach the result. As well, in the software there is several games that encourage students to try and train in an attractive and interesting environment through interactive content environment that is dependent on multimedia such as text, sound, image and movement offered through electronic media that can be downloaded on all tablets and smartphones.
This software is produced by Content and E-Learning Department at the Directorate General for Curriculum Development in order to serve the learning process and to keep up with the technical development in the field of education. The electronic book is produced by the e-Content Department at the Directorate General of Education in the Governorate of South Al Batinah. The e-book is a digital copy of the paper book that has been enhanced through interaction and add various effects. It aims to encourage student on self-learning through interaction and receiving feedback, gaining experience and different skills through attractive and interesting ways. The book covers many topics that contain several lessons displayed in an interactive way through a skill that is required to be earned.
